The Mantz-Cavaliere Post 293 was chartered on February 16, 1941. It was named in honor of Ambrose Mantz and Carmeno Cavaliere, who were killed in World War I. George W. Vonhoff was elected Post Commander by the 16 charter members.
Early meetings were held at the Mt. Bethel Grange, the Baptist Church, Cashin’s store, and members’ homes. In 1945, the Post broke ground for the hall that is still in use today.
