American Legion Post Honors Memory of County Veterans

Members of Warren County, Georgia’s, American Legion Post 96 placed flags on the graves of Warren County veterans today to honor the memory of the veterans who served to defend the country in time of war.

The Warren County American Legion is constituted to preserve the memories and incidents of veterans’ service to the country in time of war, to foster and perpetuate Americanism, and to inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state, and nation.

Membership in the American Legion is open to men and women who served the nation in time of war, whether or not in direct combat. For further information on the Warren County Post 96 membership and activities, contact Commander Laverne McCullough, First Vice Commander Ed Ricketson, or any member of the post. Members can be seen around town in fundraising activities on First Saturday and at other times such as the annual Poppy Sales. Funds are used to assist surviving veterans and to honor deceased veterans and their families.
