Jimmy Andrews proudly displays the War Veteran hat and shirt presented by American Legion members Ed Ricketson, LaVern McCullough, Bill Loper and Tom Brady

Members of Warren County’s American Legion Post 96 honored veterans at the Warrenton Health and Rehab Center on November 29th by presenting caps and T-shirts emblazoned with the words “War Veteran”.

The items were purchased with the generous “Poppy Day” donations received from local citizens during Post 96’s annual fundraising effort earlier this year. Shirts and caps were presented to Jimmy Andrews, Earl Arrington, Gaynor Shurley, Jimmy Andrews, Paul Moss, James Culpepper, and Lincoln Moon. Presentations are planned for veterans in other Warren County extended care facilities.

The American Legion is constituted to maintain awareness of the sacrifices made by wartime veterans. The Poppy Day donations are used exclusively for the support, recognition, and remembrance of wartime veterans.
