Stars and Stripes, June 13, 1919

The Reese-Hyman post of The American Legion is located in Warren County, Georgia, in the City of Warrenton. The original application to establish as a post was submitted 5 May 1923 and approved 17 May 1923.

The post was formed to uphold and defend the Constitution, maintain law and order, foster Americanism, preserve the memories of past sacrifices, engender a sense of individual obligation to the community, state, and nation, safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom, and democracy, and consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.

Our post has a variety of activities such as placing flags on veteran's graves on Memorial Day, annual Poppy Day collections to support disabled veterans and their families, purchase of phone cards for vets returned from Iraq to Walter Reed, and contributions to the District 11 Commander's Fund used to perform larger support missions.

For a little look at history, see our Constitution. For information about how we operate, see our By-Laws.

Directions and map: Meetings are held at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month. We normally keep the meeting as brief as practical so we can get on to food and camaraderie.
